Background

AB2 Digital Pictures is a Canadian independent film production company founded in 2001 by Jeremy Bolt and Paul W. S. Anderson. Aside from Anderson's film projects (including the Resident Evil film series), the company has also been involved in a number of TV and independent productions.

Impact Pictures

1st Logo (2004)

Logo: Same as the normal Davis Films logo, but the text on the rhombus is already there and there's the solid rhombus with the words "IMP/\CT" with the word "CANADA" below is conjoined the rhombus.

Technique: Same as the normal Davis Films logo.

Music/Sounds: Same as the normal Davis Films logo.

Availability: Seen only on Resident Evil: Apocalypse.

2nd Logo (June 15, 2007)

Logo: We see a lightbulb on the dark. We fade into more closer shots of it, as it starts lighting up. Then a butterfly-like bug (possibly a moth) flies to the lightbulb, and gets zapped by the lightbulb while it surrounds with swirling sparks as we see close-ups of the action. Later on, we see the same lightbulb with bloodmarks making the words "IMPACT PICTURES" on it. We gets a bit far from the lightbulb as it flashes brighter.

Variant: Print version exists on closing credits, which is merely the name in two lines.

Technique: The animation.

Music/Sounds: Sounds of the action, mostly zapping and the lightbulb being touched, and a camera flash sound when the lightbulb flashes.

Availability: The full version was seen exclusively on D.O.A. (2006). Doesn't appear on Resident Evil series. On Pandorum, the closing version shares the screen with Overture Films and Constantin Film logos.

3rd Logo (September 10, 2010-January 27, 2017)

Variants:

  • On Pompeii, it has the word "POMPEII" added below the logo.
  • On Resident Evil: Afterlife, the entire text is replaced by "D/\\/IS FILMS" and "IMP/\CT C/\N/\D/\".
  • On Resident Evil: Retribution, the text is in the same font used by Impact Pictures and "PICTURES" replaces "CANADA".

Technique: The light moving.

Music/Sounds: The opening theme of the movie, or silence.

Availability: Seen on Musketeers and Pompeii, and possibly will appear on newer movies.
