Rai Tre

1st Logo (1983-1985)

Visuals: On a black background, a green tetrahedron flies in as an even bigger green tetrahedron with a wireframe pattern flies into view. The tetrahedron then enters the bigger tetrahedron, flying through its light green interior. A TV tube shape flips into view, with a black background with a white glow in the middle, and the text "RAITRE", with "RAI" in green and "TRE" in light green, flips in. The tube then fills the background and the tetrahedron fully disappears.

Variants:

  • A short version that was later introduced later in its usage starts with the tetrahedron outside of the bigger tetrahedron before fading to it entering the TV tube. The theme is the last few seconds of the normal theme.
  • An abridged version has the text zooming out as the middle of the background glows white. This has the last three notes from the Rai logo's theme at the time.
  • There's a variant where the logo zooms in and the glow in the background dims. Then, the word "PRESENTA" ("PRESENTS" in Italian) in light blue flips in as the top and bottom parts of the background glow magenta, sky blue diagonal lines appear behind "PRESENTA", and the logo zooms out onto a blue gradient background and a tetrahedron in the corner.

Technique: Early CGI developed by Studio ARA.

Audio: Same as the Rai logo at the time.

2nd Logo (1985-1988)

Visuals: On a light green background, a tetrahedron is seen flying through some translucent tunnels, filling them with green. The camera then zooms out of the tunnels and rotates upward to reveal the "RAITRE" logo, along with a bunch of differently sized tetrahedrons. The logo's shadow moves a bit.

Variant: An abridged version has the logo already formed, with a single tetrahedron flying over the logo.

Technique: The camera moving, the tetrahedron moving, and the formation of the Rai text. [possible misuse]

Audio: Same as the Rai logo at the time. For the short version, it has the last three notes.

3rd ID (1988-1993)

Visuals: On a background with a black floor and a glowing purple sky, there are the letters "RAI" with each one having a different plant-based texture and the textures changing. As they spin, a green tetrahedron with a wireframe pattern rotates in, turning "RAI" to "TRE". The tetrahedron stops between the letters "T" and "R".

Technique: The tetrahedron and the letters. [possible misuse]

Audio: A twinkly synth theme ending with the same three notes as before.

4th ID (1993-1998)

Visuals: On a foggy green background, there is a multicolored filmstrip coming from the bottom. Later on, a glass tetrahedron comes out of the back of the filmstrip before settling on its front side, gradually changing to green, and the "RAITRE" logo comes up. When the logo's fully formed, it stops moving.

Technique: The crystals, the filmstrip, the tetrahedron, and the text moving. [possible misuse]

Audio: A 10-note theme played on the saxophone.

5th ID (1995-1998)

Visuals: On a foggy green background, there is a wall of crystal lines sliding in from the bottom. The word "TRE", made of green glass, fades in as the RAI logo appears from the left side of the screen.

Technique: The crystal wall, the Rai logo moving, the background. [possible misuse]

Audio: Same as the previous logo, but only the last 2 notes are played.

6th ID (2000-2003)

Visuals: Over a green background is what looks like a silhouette of a face that's revealed to be part of the Rai butterfly symbol, which flies towards the center of the screen. The words "Rai" and "Tre" fade in on the left and right sides of the logo.

Variants:

  • A longer variant exists where the logo is slowed down.
  • There's also a Christmas variant where the logo plays normally, until a piece of light (a star) lands over the word "Rai", then the word "Rai Tre" turns into "Buone Feste" (Happy Holidays in Italian) and it starts to snow.

Technique: CGI developed by Inarea.

Audio: An orchestral note segueing into a 7-note piano theme.

Audio Variants:

  • On the short version, only the first five notes are played.
  • The Christmas variant has the first half of the normal logo's music, which then transitions into the first few notes of Jingle Bells.

7th ID (2003-2010)

Visuals: Over a green background is the butterfly logo with "Rai Tre" next to it appearing. Then it spins around, turning into the word "Pubblicità" ("Advertisement" in Italian).

Variants:

  • When the advertisements are over, the logo rotates three times, without "Pubblicità".
  • There is a version where a male announcer says the word "Pubblicità".
  • A Christmas variant exists since 2009, where it's the regular Rai logo but with a Christmas letter (with a Christmas tree, a present and a reindeer) moving to the left corner of the screen, as it stops, the card closes with a bow forming and the text behind it saying "Buone Feste" (Happy Holidays in Italian).

Technique: CGI developed by Inarea.

Audio: A techno version of the Rai Uno logo's theme.

Rai 3

1st Logo (2010-2016)

Visuals: There are several blocks spinning, with each one having a photo with a "3" in it. Finally, the center two blocks spin to reveal the Rai 3 logo as all the others reveal a green background.

Variant: There is a short version.

Technique: CGI designed by Frame by Frame.

Audio: A chorus of singers, along with a guitar theme. The short version only plays the latter.

Note: Although this ident is extinct, it recently reappeared during a broadcast glitch on the channel.
