Background

NBC News Studios is the documentary production company of the NBC News division of NBCUniversal News Group. It was launched in 2020 by Liz Cole.

Logo (March 25, 2021-)

Visuals: On a black background, an outline of the three right-most feathers of the NBC peacock, colored blue, green, and red respectively, are drawn in while the screen subtly zooms out. From the left, each word in the company name slides in, resting next to the logo in a right-aligned stacked format.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the logo is still.
  • An in-credit variant exists where the logo is entirely in white.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: The ending theme of the program.

Availability: It first appeared on John Wayne Gacy: Devil in Disguise as an in-credit notice while the normal logo debuted on The Thing About Pam. It would later appear at the end of various theatrical and TV films such as Diamond Hands: The Legend of WallStreetBets and To End All War: Oppenheimer & the Atomic Bomb. The animated variant can be found on their website.
