Background

BCA-TV, standing for Ballyfermot Community Association - Television was a pirate television station broadcast in Ireland from September 1974 to April 1976. The channel was funded by Phoenix Relays, until the company pulled out in 1976, resulting in the channel ceasing to exist. The content of the channel focused on the Ballyfermot community, featuring skits, comedy shows, musical performances, local politics and parades.

Visuals: In the center of a green circle, a black phoenix sits surrounded by a yellow border. Within the border are the letters 'B C A - TV' on a black background, and five white hands are visible.

Variants:

  • There is a variant of this logo that features the word "COLOUR" in crimson text on a white card at the bottom. Additionally, there is a blue circle with three candles to the right and a green circle with an Irish harp to the left.
  • A later version of this logo moved the "BCA-TV" to the top of the yellow border. It also reduced the spacing between the letters and added the text "COLOUR" in red to the border.

Availability: The logo can be seen in archived broadcasts that have been uncovered recently, notably captures from former employees of the TV station.
