Background

AFL Films was a short-lived division of NFL Films to produce AFL highlights. It was formed in 1968, taking over production from Tel-Ra Productions to produce This Week in Pro Football.

Logo (1968)

Visuals: On a blue marble background with lines, there is a black and white portrait of a football referee. The referee then moves, and then it freezes and it zooms out, and then the "A" of the AFL logo draws in, and then the referee disappears, and the full AFL logo from the era fades in. The word "FILMS INC." fades in in an arc below the AFL logo.

Technique: 2D cel animation.

Audio: A timpani synth theme, which was an excerpt of the This Week in Pro Football theme.

Availability: Seen on the 1968 episode of This Week in Pro Football.
