Replying to Forum:Are there other, less obvious reasons, why we found logos scary?

I got the idea watching this YT video, "Why are people obsessed with logos?" or words to that effect. Came out like 4 years ago or so. The video suggested that there might be other elements to us finding certain logos scary...watching them in the dark is what he named regarding Screen Gems, for instance. (not so for me, to me it was the hot colors and weird music). So...are there subconscious or otherwise other feelings these logos make us feel? I'm trying to think of some theories...for example... the aforementioned video does acknowledge the St. Elsewhere finale, and how the story that Mimsie died soon after (some retcon this to be "before" or even "the same time") is a factor in making it scary. I expand this one to include reminding people of when their pets died. Then there's the creepypasta-type exaggerations some had about MTM using Mimsie's corpse to make the flatlining logo. This could be something that's quite interesting to explore.

I know the concept of finding logos scary is a bit old hat, but that doesn't mean we didn't have irrational feelings in our younger years - we're a largely neurodivergent community after all. But I'd wager a lot of it just stemmed from strange sounds, inconsistent visuals, or something that just...stuck out to us back then. That's really are there was to it.

Of course. But hearing that commentary, I don't doubt that maybe one thing reminded people of another thing. Or something made seeing certain things on TV more unpleasant. Another one I thought of: the Hot City version of the Viacom V. One of my old fears were something scary coming out of the sky. As the V comes out of nowhere from the starry sky seen at the end of Hot City, I could see that reminding me of my other fear. (I wasn't one who feared any version of the V, though)

There's a possible psychological reason - Closing logos appear at the very end of a show. If one seems unusual, it might really throw you off if you just watched a show you loved and the final thing you saw was a weird logo.

I think the audiovisual parts of the logo itself can be the reason. A while ago I heard from someone that they were telling their friend about the S of Hell logo and how come it was scary. Their friend answered it by it's unnatural progression (likely by the music), and not gonna lie, I also had my mind blown when they admitted it too.
