Background

Odessa Television Studio was a Ukrainian TV channel that was founded around October 1956.[1] It wouldn't be until November 5, 1958 that the channel would go on the air.[2]

ID (November 5, 1958-1960's)

Visuals: A black and white-striped radio tower is shown against a night sky with large stars of varying shapes. Several seconds into the sequence, each letter in the channel's acronym pop up vertically aligned, followed by the rest of the letters after each acronym. The text is also slightly adjusted upwards while the text is formed.

Technique: Cel animation.

Audio: The opening theme of the film.

Availability: It was seen at the beginning of Ще один телецентр. The ident additionally made an appearance during a 35th anniversary special filmed at the Odessa Radio and Television Center.
