Background
KTVH-DT (channel 12) is a television station in Helena, Montana, affiliated with NBC. It is owned by the E.W. Scripps Company alongside CBS affiliate KXLH-LD. Both stations share studios on West Lyndale Avenue in Helena, while KTVH-DT's transmitter is located on Hogback Mountain. KTVH-DT operates low-power translator KTGF-LD in Great Falls, where Scripps also owns CBS affiliate KRTV.
1st ID (August 24, 1994-December 11, 1994)
Visuals: There are at least 2 variants:
- a: On a nature background with grass, trees and a lake in it, a sky blue rectangle is seen on the bottom left, which contains the logo (a stacked text "KTVH 12" with the lower part of the letter "H" connected to the number "12", and an NBC logomark below the "KTVH" part) and a horizontal rectangle below.
- b: Over a clip with wolves running to pull a sledge behind on a winter landscape, the rectangle which contains the logo in the previous variant is seen again on the bottom right, which is colored gray in here. The text "Winter in Montana" is also seen at the top.
Technique: A still live-action shot with computerized graphics. Live-action with the clip in the 2nd variant.
Audio:
- a: A cheerful fanfare, with the announcer saying: "KTVH, Channel 12, proudly serving White Sulphur Springs".
- b: A dramatic synth tune with the NBC chimes in it, accompanied by the announcer saying: "In joy winter in Montana".
2nd ID (December 11, 1994)
Visuals: Over a navy gradient background with a snow landscape below and Christmas tree branches shown, an orange ornament with a biconvex rectangle and static in it is shown. A hand with the remote then slides in and the static changes to a green background with the logo from the previous ident, with the white word "HELENA" below, is being shown in it. The hand soon slides away.
Technique: Computer animation.
Audio: A Christmas-styled bell & guitar tune with the announcer saying "It's the season to watch Channel 12".
3rd ID (1996-1999)
Visuals: Over a background with a clip which has the Montana State Capitol being zoomed in, the blurred NBC's peacock in blue slowly rotates, and the white italic text "WHERE THE NEWS COME FIRST" slides in from the right to the left at the bottom-half, the new station's logo (a red-orange gradient number "13" with both a white rectangle containing the black word "WHERE NEWS" and a black rectangle containing the white word "COME FIRST" at the top-right side of it, and the NBC's peacock below the rectangle) zooms in while slowly rotating.
Technique: Computer animation.
Audio: An upbeat and triumphant tune, along with the announcer saying: "You're watching channel 12, where news come first".
4th ID (2003)
Visuals: A white rectangle is seen stacked on a black rectangle and both of them respectively having the texts "where news" colored in black and "come first" colored in white, with the word silde the opposite direction of the word above or below it (the words "where" and "comes" silde to the left, and the words "news" and "first" silde to the right). Two curve red-blue gradient objects slides to each other from the bottom left and the top right, and merge at the center of the screen, creating an intersection between the two, while wipes out the rectangles out of the screen. The intersection is composited via chroma key, and an image of Carroll College, appears within it. The new station's logo (a blue square that has the number "12" and the NBC's peacock, with the peacock being placed at the right of the number; a white rectangle and a black rectangle at the bottom, which have the same words as the black & white rectangles at the start, and the white rectangle's at the right of the white rectangle) fades in at the bottom right when the objects merge together. The Caroll College's images in the intersection can be varied.

Audio: A trumphant fanfare with teh NBC's 3-note tune in it, along with the announcer saying: "On the campus of Caroll College, this is KTVH, channel 12.
