Jim Owens Entertainment, Inc.

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

Background

This is the vanity plate of country music television producer Jim Owens.

Logo (April 1, 1986-1990s)

Visuals: Near the bottom of the screen on a black background, there is the text

JIM OWENS ENTERTAINMENT INC.
All Rights Reserved

Above the text, inside a square, there is a clip of an obese woman wearing a viking helmet and viking garb, and holding two cymbals, one in each hand. She yells "HOAH HOAH AAAAAAAOOOOOOH!" and then crashes the cymbals. The entire clip is set over a blue wall with some clouds.

Variants:

  • A variant with different text appeared on a syndicated episode of Crook & Chase. Above the clip are the words "Syndicated by Genter Media", the lower-left hand side reads "Distributed by", with the 1983 Nashville Network print logo on a white background, and the lower-right hand side reads "A Division of Jim Owens Entertainment, Inc. All Rights Reserved".
  • Another variant exists where there's bold serif text that reads "Distributed by Jim Owens Entertainment, Inc.".
  • On From the Vault: Country Standard Time, a still image of the opera lady is inside a rectangular box with the words "A Division of Jim Owens Entertainment All Rights Reserved" next to it.
    • Another version of said variant has a still image of the last shot and in its normal size.

Technique: Live-action.

Audio: The lady "singing", for lack of a better term, and the cymbals. The still variant has the closing theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on reruns of Pop! Goes the Country on RFD-TV. The first variant appeared on a syndicated episode of Crook & Chase on The Nashville Network. It is currently seen on reruns of aforementioned shows on Heartland.
