Background
Ideastream Public Media is Cleveland, Ohio's public broadcaster that was formed in July 2001 as Ideastream through the merger between WVIZ and WCPN. In 2021, the company rebranded to its current name.
Logo (June 11, 2021-)
Visuals: Four dots of varying sizes, colored from top to bottom red, dark blue, brown, and blue, pop in on a white background. The dots twirl and merge to form a larger, dark blue circle made up of four semicircles with curved left ends. The formed symbol slides to the left as a dark blue background, lead by blue and red vertical bars, enters the screen from the right and taking around three quarters of it. While that happens, "ideastream" is formed through a few letters being drawn and several bars forming to slide and morph into the letters within said word. Afterwards, a white underline passes through below the contents of "ideastream" where "public media" slides down below it letter by letter.
Variants:
- At the end of programs, "This Has Been A Production OF" is left aligned and placed above the company name. The copyright notice, while aligned to the other block of text, is on the bottom of the screen. Both blocks of text are already formed as the dark blue background slides in. A trademark symbol appears next to "Media".
- On Living For We, moments after the logo finishes forming, the copyright notice is replaced with the following left-aligned text in a tall font:
the Dr. Donald J. Goodman and Ruth Weber Goodman
Philanthropic Fund of the Cleveland Foundation.
- The logo also exists as an in-credit logo where it is completely white and has the text "This has been a production of", as well as the copyright notice in Times New Roman, over and underneath the logo.
Technique: Flash animation.
Audio: A quick, four-note drum beat followed by an ascending, air-sounding and reverbed synthesized note.
Availability: The production variant was seen on Living For We and The 88th Annual Anisfield-Wolf Book Awards. The in-credit variant appears on press conference videos such as The Future of the Community Development Ecosystem: Remarks from Tania Menesse and Combating Gun Violence in America
