Background

ITV Studios is the entitled production arm of Independent Television (ITV), which was created from the merger of Carlton and Granada's production companies.

ITV Productions

(January 2006-2010?)

Logo: On a blurred background with visible skyscrapers and a blue sky, we see a long white rectangle appear and stretch out, with the words "itv Productions", with the words "itv" in white and in a teal rectangle, appearing on it.

Variant: On one program, this text apoears:

An
itv Productions
(GLOBE logo)
G L O B E
P R O D U C T I O N S

Co-production"

FX/SFX: The background zooming out, and the white rectangle stretching out.

Music/Sounds: The ending theme of the TV show or none.

Availability: Uncommon. This was used in tandem with the 2004 Granada logo, with this logo being used on ITV-produced shows airing on their channels. One example being Season 3 of Blue Murder.

Editor's Note: TBA.

ITV Studios

1st Logo (2009-January 13, 2013)

Logo: On a black background, we see a three-dimensional blue and purple curved design, that resembles an aurora, wave in with the ITV logo and the word "STUDIOS" appearing inside the opening of the design.

Variants:

  • On Countdown, the logo scrolls up in the credits in its own black box, along with a copyright stamp below that reads "© ITV STUDIOS LIMITED [year]".
  • On programs co-produced with WGBH, below the logo is small text that reads "in association with", with the WGBH logo below in blue.
  • For its American division, the word "America" is seen below.
  • A version with the word "Global Entertainment" exists.
  • There is a white background version used for the video game adaptation of Nanny 911, with "Global Entertainment" written below. A similar version with only "GLOBAL" was used on Countdown for the Nintendo DS.

FX/SFX: The aurora and words appearing. For the Countdown variant, the scrolling in the credits. Sometimes, it' s still.

Music/Sounds: A synth choir, the end theme of the show, or silence.

Availability: Common.

  • Seen on various ITV-produced shows, including the first few seasons of The Chase, episodes of Countdown from this time period, and the ultra short-lived American series Sit Down, Shut Up.
  • The American variant was seen on U.S. shows, including Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, America Now, The Jeremy Kyle Show, Prime Suspect, and The Bill Cunningham Show, among others.
  • The version with the white background is seen on the Nanny 911 game. This also appeared on the short-lived sitcom Family Tools.
  • The "Global Entertainment" variant (or the ITV Global variant) was (infamously) used to plaster over previous logos on newer prints of older ITV shows (mainly those from Granada).

Editor's Note: TBA.

2nd Logo (January 14, 2013-December 31, 2019)

Logo: On a white background, we see the 2013 ITV logo and the word "S T U D I O S" appear letter-by-letter. Two curved shadows slide in as well.

Variants:

  • For its international divisions, either "AMERICA™", "AUSTRALIA", "NORDIC" or "FINLAND" (depending on the region) appears below in the same matter as "S T U D I O S".
  • For programs distributed internationally and on DVD, the words "GLOBAL ENTERTAINMENT" appear below in the same manner as "S T U D I O S". This variant plays slower than the normal logo.

FX/SFX: The letters fading/flipping and shadows sliding in.

Music/Sounds: A three-note synth theme. Some shows might have the end theme of the program playing over it (episodes of Knightmare on Challenge has the end of the show's theme playing over the "GLOBAL ENTERTAINMENT" logo).

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • An extended version of the theme has the notes drawn out a little longer.
  • On The Chase USA broadcasts on Challenge, a low-tone version of the "Global Entertainment" variant exists due to it plastering the ITV Studios America logo, but keeping the original audio.

Availability: Depending on the variant:

  • Normal: Common. Should be at the end of ITV productions in the UK until 2020.
  • Global Entertainment Version: Common, as this version is normally the variant used to plaster older logos.
    • It plasters the Anglia logo on the first two seasons of Knightmare (seasons 3 and 4 retain the "Anglia Production for ITV" end card) and the Central logo on various episodes of Family Fortunes on Challenge, as well as the 1994 series of Blockbusters on the same channel.
    • The low-tone version plasters the ITV Studios America logo on all season 1 and all but one season 2 episodes of The Chase USA when it airs on Challenge. As of recent, it also plasters the 1st ITV Studios logo on 2010-2013 episodes of The Chase when reran on Challenge.
  • International Variants: Common.
    • The American version can be seen ön episodes of The Bill Cunningham Show, Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, and America Now from the time period, and appears as an in-credit logo on The Chase USA.
    • The Australian variant can be seen on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! on Ten, Shaun Micallef's Mad As Hell on ABC, The Chase Australia and Hell's Kitchen Australia on Seven.
    • The Nordic variant could be spotted on the Finnish talk show Elämää Pelissä on Yle TV1, while the later "Finland" variant could be seen in Elossa 24h.
