Background

Hello Sunshine is a media company founded by Reese Witherspoon, Seth Rodsky, and Otter Media in 2016, which produces films, TV shows, podcasts, tours, and even a book club. Otter Media would increase its stake in the company three years later. In August 2021, Witherspoon sold a part of the company to Blackstone Inc.

1st Logo (July 17-October 9, 2018)


Visuals: On a banana yellow background with a copyright notice underneath, the word "hello" in black rises, bounces up, and lands down while three suns slide in within the "o", the smaller of which in a brighter shade of yellow. When they have landed, "sunshine", also in black, fades in underneath.

Variant: On Master the Mess, the copyright notice was removed and the animation with the three suns were delayed to when "sunshine" fades in. Also, a "follow us" notice was added alongside the social media icons.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: None.

Availability: Only seen on Shine On with Reese and Master the Mess.

2nd Logo (June 9, 2019-)

Visuals: On a black or white background, the logo from before is shown with the text in either white or black respectively.

Variants:

  • An animated version exists, where the logo fades and zooms in, as the three yellow suns slide in.
  • The size of the logo may vary on some shows.
  • Sometimes, it shares the screen with other logos.

Technique: Either none or 2D animation in the animated version.

Audio: The ending theme of the show.

Availability: It debuted on Big Little Lies season 2 and can be seen on projects from the company since such as The Morning Show, the first two seasons of Truth Be Told, among others.

3rd Logo (July 15, 2022-)


Visuals: On a black background, the screen zooms out from the "o" in the logo, which is colored in silver with bevels. The yellow suns slide in during this as the logo rotates into its position.

Variants:

  • A version exists where the background is set in the ocean.
  • Sometimes it shares the screen with other logos.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: None or the ending theme.

Availability: It debuted on Where the Crawdads Sing, and later seen on Surface, the third season of Truth Be Told, and Tiny Beautiful Things. It is likely to appear on future films and shows from the company. Used in tandem with the previous logo.
