Background

Granada LWT International was the international sales holder for Granada Television and London Weekend Television, formed in 1994 after the purchase of LWT by Granada. It mainly focused on the distribution of LWT's material. Despite the formation of this venture, Granada Television International (later rebranded as B.R.I.T.E.) was retained as a standalone company.

In 1997, B.R.I.T.E. and Granada LWT International merged to form Granada Media International, with the addition of fellow venture Yorkshire-Tyne Tees Enterprises following Granada's purchase of Yorkshire Television and Tyne Tees Television.
