I've been in the logo community long enough to know what plastering is. But, I thought companies didn't care about logos. Plastering proves me wrong. My biggest question is why they do it. Thanks to them, T.A.T went extinct. CBS All Access went extinct. Why do companies even plaster logos in the first place?

They don't really care about logos in the sense that they're not really interested in preserving dead or otherwise irrelevant brands. They do care about their overall brand image however, so whenever there's an opportunity to plaster an old logo with a newer one from the same or even a different company, they'll do it. It's all about their image.
