I've been thinking lately that our instant-block approach to the single account rule is dated, perhaps a relic of our drama-filled past on WF. I'm concerned that our current approach to this may be driving off good-faith contributors who simply changed their minds about what username they wanted and were unfamiliar with the Global Rename system or who may have reapplied due to a glitch of some sort. I think that if someone joins, then makes another account without showing any disruptive intentions, we should at first warn them on their talk page about our account policy. The warning could look like this:

Hello, example.
You appear to have registered an addtional account. Please note that our rules permit only one account per user with the exception of approved bots. If this was the result of a glitch/mistake or if you wanted a different username, please respond below naming the account you wish to keep. The extra account will then be blocked. If you created a new account because you decided you want a different username, please note that Miraheze offers a Global Rename system. This allows you to change your username without creating a new account. For more information please read CLG:USERNAME. Thank you for your cooperation.

This sounds like a good idea. However, you misspelled "additional" as "addtional".
