I'll start first. Insult terms are incredibly annoying. Sony Pictures Television is Sony's best television logo if you ignore the plastering. The Paramount logo with the 1976 fanfare should've been used more. I rarely hear it in the movies of its time. People who use the term "logo kids" are more immature than the logo kids they accuse themselves. Warner Bros. has been updating itself too often. Any others you guys have?

Logos from major film, television, gaming, etc. studios (including semi-major), while good in their own right, get too much attention. Other countries and independent studios exist and have plenty of logos that are about as effective and charming as theirs. I'm not scared of any logo nowadays. Not even a jumpscare is enough to dissuade me from watching it more. Recent logos with a seemingly simplified approach can have its own charm due to their colorful animation, unique style, or cute jingle. Logos with a vintage theming are underrated, and so are old Slavic film logos. Sometimes, having amazing CGI and putting it to use on a logo where the screen flies around various locations can make it feel generic (that is where certain Chinese film logos and the newr Walt Disney Pictures logo lose their "WOW!" factor). Remember those old home entertainment logos from Greece, Argentina, UK, etc. that frequently uses analog computer effects for its animation and plays either instrumental synth or popular music as its soundtrack? Considering their time period, they are pretty decent and get too much ridicule for looking cheap and simple. Well obviously, not all of them as their low budget can really show. For some reason, I feel like the more recent logo finds of this decade are not getting enough recognition in the newer logo lists. People still consider the most infamous scary and cheesy logos in mind, and as well rank them highly as one of the scariest, even though the logo community has discovered more that can top their quality. As for individual logos, beginning with what I think are overrated: The newer Walt Disney Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures logos are inferior to their predecessors. Great animation, but they are mostly following and expanding the same concept that was done greatly beforehand. The 2021 MGM logo (though I still like it and glad with the reception it has been getting). Now for the rest: The Zombastic Productions logo is more funny than scary. The 1994 TV Cidade ident gets too much hate, not to mention, what if that isn't the regular ident? The 1976 KWSU logo is actually pretty good. It's a fascinating and unique, complex take on the Scanimation technology at the time. The Oz Film Company logo is, although I used to be scared of it a decade about, might have the most tragic reputation and the one, in terms of that, that aged the poorest. I think it was meant to be a sight of beauty and a unique experimental dynamic between Princess Ozma and the audience. But as time went by, the expression and silent nature lost its resonance, especially among the logo community. I am intrigued by the premise of this thread, and also have more unpopular opinions to express, so I'll return for more.

I'm not particularly in the loop with what is and isn't popular within the logo community right now. I've never been crazy involved in the social aspects of the scene, and I still wouldn't consider myself active in those respects. I will say that I think the logo community at-large is much more interested in seeing the newest logo reveals from all the major studios and production firms, instead of cherishing older logos. I'm not making this point as a slight towards the massive archive engines that are channels like Broken Saw, but a lot of interesting finds kind of get themselves buried under the eighteenth capture of a specific logo combination from some TV show no one will remember 3 years from now. I'm not saying that archiving these things are not important, I'm simply trying to say that there are plenty of interesting things to find that aren't brand new. Another "unpopular" opinion (I guess) is that AVID as a database skews towards more modern production labels and companies. I think this is relatively par for the course, since it is much easier to find modern logos (they're just about everywhere) as opposed to older fare, but it definitely seems like the further you go back, the patchier AVID's coverage gets.

Gonna put some more unpopular opinions here. Logo histories are boring and have been done to death. Going on this wiki is the better option. THX is not a scary logo, if anything its an amazing and powerful logo. Logo remakes not being realistic is justified. How can you expect someone to replicate such an expensive logo by a gigantic company? Tristar Pictures has a better logo than Columbia. The 2023 logo of Miramax is a massive downgrade from the original.

Unpopular opinion, CBSTVD, SPT and the likes of "overplastering" are underrated and bashed way too much. A lot of them are really good logos designed fluently and they don't deserve the hate they got back in the day and to some extent, now.

The UNC-TV 1971 logo is a chill logo. I love it's music and scanimation.

Honestly, I kinda wished there were more older logos not only on this database, but generally. I often hear about the contemporaries and logo combos ranging from the 1990s until now and they’re getting kinda old (and somewhat overrated) for me, as you could tell by my page creations. That doesn’t mean I hate such logos or anything, I just wish there was more variety nowadays. I didn’t mind the 1st UNC-TV logo at all. Despite what everyone else says about it, I found it fascinating in a good way due to the music and visuals. I found logos with short but regal themes more memorable than the popular logos nowadays, such as United Workers, Regia Films Arturo González, the 1st Rai ID, Adams Filmi, Tai Yuan Film Co., Ltd., and others I could put here but didn’t have the commitment to do so.

Here is mine (it's all about my criticisms about home video bumper location) Home Video Bumpers are a pain in the butt to locate, as international VHS uploads are rare. The bumper location operation shouldn't of collapsed like it did. It should be much easier to find VHS print dates.

I have another unpopular opinion that I'm surprised I didn't address previously The 1994 WBTV Theme sounds nothing like Merrily We Roll Along to me. Warner Bros. Family Entertainment has Merrily in the exact same pitch as the WBTV logo and it clearly sounds more like it.

Here are mines: 1. I actually like the Arman Julian Productions logo, I don’t find it scary. 2. I don’t mind the first Camp Video logo, I find it pretty cool.

Apologies for a VERY long hibernation, but here are my logo opinions: 1: I (like so many of you) favour the old Fuzzy Door Productions logo more than the new one. I might get one of my artist friends to edit the current one… 2: Wonk Inc.’s logo might be scary, so I’m keeping it under a radar for now. 3: Logos like Babyhemyth, Helltrap Nightmare, Heel & Toe and Millar Gough Ink fall under “funny” more than “scary” (though the last one sometimes does…). 4: Jenny Kissed Me and Sutton Street Productions make me REALLy uncomfortable…5: The scientist guy we hear in Mastermind Laboratories might not be saying “it works!” I rewatched the logo a bunch of times before writing this down, and although muffled by the additional sounds, he could also be saying “Edward!” (who I presume is his colleague or something), or “it was!” (what was?) What do YOU think guys? 6: I still can’t for the life of me comprehend what sings and coughs in the Acme Productions logo. I can tell it’s something tiny, like a flea or something. 7: I don’t think the island on the Zihuatanejo Productions logo looks anything like the real Zihuatanejo. And 8: Anyone understand what that woman on the 2 Out Rally logo is saying? “Puppies”?

While I don't really care about the Scary Logo side of the Logo Community because I see it as entirely dead nowadays but I think Patya69's Top 1500 Scariest Logos aged pretty bad and which let to awful more low effort copycats of the list.

I'll say a few takes of mine. The Sony Pictures Television logo isn't bad - it just got that bad reputation due to the rampant plastering. Additionally, the 2nd 20th Century Fox Television Distribution logo is actually great. The community trashes it all the time due to it's budget and coloring. Based on the variants (especially the recently fully unearthed extended version), I think they actually spent the budget well! Additionally it's also unique for the fact that they actually recreated the 2009 logo instead of sticking to what the other TV divisions use these days. "Logo kids" is a moronic term shouldn't exist. Let people be who they are. We all were kids in the past too so that term also contradicts things anyway. Going back to 20th Century Fox for a moment.. for the love of god, can people just remake something else? It's tiring to see the 1994 logo getting remaked over and over again, with rarely any variety getting mixed in! I've seen people sort of notice this and started to move on to remaking the 2021/2023 WB logos, which is alright, but I fear the same fate will happen to that logo too.
