Background

Elliottland Productions Inc. was the vanity company of actor/comedian Chris Elliott.

Logo (December 26, 1987-March 8, 1992)

Visuals: On a black background is an upside-down triangle. Inside it is a bit of a dark starry sky with several black/gray buildings inside it with yellow lighting below. Little windows are seen all over the buildings. On the right on top of the longest building in width is a red sign with a purple car protruding out of the triangle. In it reads "ELLIOTTLAND" in a white thin font with black bordering. The "O" is slanted. Below that is "Productions" in a cursive font. Below that is "Inc.". Below the "D" at the end of the sign is a black/pink 50s style car. The triangle has blue neon bordering around it. Below the triangle is "and" in white.

Variants:

  • There is a version with animation; on a black background, the logo described above zooms in towards the screen and flips horizontally. After it gets to its familiar position, a yellow line trails in front of the building with the billboard, then to the left light of the car, then outside of the triangle, goes through the bottom building of the left and finally rests on the roof of the middle building. Green light sparks at the end of the line, copyright info "©1987 All Rights Reserved" fades in below. The logo has no neon glow.
  • Later Get a Life episodes don't have the "and" underneath.

Technique: None. Computer animation for the animated variant.

Audio: The closing theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on Get a Life, which is available on DVD. The animated version appears on the 1987 Cinemax special F.D.R: A One-Man Show, which is available on VHS.
