DreamWorks Animation/Trailer Variations

From the Audiovisual Identity Database, the motion graphics museum

These are the logo variations seen on trailers throughout the years by DreamWorks Animation, with more to be added overtime.

Monsters vs. Aliens (2009):

  • On the 1st trailer, the Flushed Away version of the 2004 logo becomes black and white, which makes the moon and clouds look 2D. It then slightly bends on the bottom right like a piece of paper as it falls to the bottom left.
  • On the 2nd trailer, the print logo is seen on a steel door. The door opens up, continuing the trailer. Also, like the first trailer, "ANIMATION" is removed.
  • On the 3rd trailer, the 2010 logo is used with a glitch effect and snow flies from the right side, starting the trailer. This also can be seen in 3D. Also, "ANIMATION" is removed like the first and second trailers.
  • On a TV spot, the 2004 logo is used, B.O.B. appears on the upper left, Dr, Cockroach at the bottom and The Missing Link on the right side as they say "Yoo-Hoo!".
  • Another TV spot also uses the Flushed Away version of the 2004 logo in scope ("ANIMATION" is removed, like the first, second and third trailers), but the left and right sides are oddly stretched (this is most likely because the normal fullscreen version was used). Sometimes, the logo zooms in.

Megamind (2010):
  • On the teaser trailer, we only see the text zooming out in space.
  • Another trailer shows the print logo in violet against a space background with planets. Megamind's small ship then quickly flies by the logo, making it disappear.

Puss in Boots (2011):
  • The clouds are bluer, and there are fireworks exploding around the logo.
  • On a TV spot and one trailer, a "P" is scratched behind the logo Zorro-style.

Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted (2012):
  • Same as the film itself.

Rise of the Guardians (2012):
  • On the first trailer, the logo is tinted ice blue and the camera pans down through the clouds.
  • On the second trailer, the logo is tinted ice blue again and it freezes.
  • On a TV spot, the logo is once again tinted ice blue and the camera zooms out from the center of the screen.

Trolls: World Tour (2020):
  • The 25 Years logo is placed on a dark blue background with a blue light shining under the "W" in "DREAMWORKS". This was also used on the company's social media during its 25th anniversary, albeit with the byline removed.

The Bad Guys (2022):
  • On the 3rd trailer, it's the same as the film itself, but shortened to when Mr. Wolf relaxes on the moon.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022):
  • On TV spots, the logo is in a box beside the Universal logo.
