Background
Once a major supplier of TV movies and miniseries, Citadel Entertainment was founded in 1986 by producers Robert Cooper and David Ginsburg. In 1991, Citadel was sold to HBO, which in turn sold a half-interest in the company to UK's Anglia Television two years later. In 1997, HBO/Anglia sold Citadel to Alliance Communications.
(March 7, 1988-November 16, 2001)
Logo: On a black background, we see a ghostly shadow of a pediment in blue twilight. The crescent moves from the right, passes the ruins and transforms into a full moon, then goes to the left. The pediment and hill it stands on both turn gold. The word "CITADEL" appears, with "ENTERTAINMENT" below, separated by a line.
Variants:
- The opening version features starry background and slowed-up motion.
- Sometimes, "L.P." is added after "ENTERTAINMENT".
- During the 1990-1993 season, the byline "A TIME WARNER COMPANY" was seen.
- In 1999, the Alliance Atlantis byline was added.
FX/SFX: The moving crescent, and the golden color transformation.
Music/Sounds: Rustling sounds with a deep noise. For the closing version, it's the closing theme of the movie.
Availability: Rare. Can be found at the end of the films from 1988-2001, including Haven and Blackout Effect.
