Background

Best Direct (International) Ltd. is a British home shopping company founded in 1992. The company focuses on distributing "As Seen on TV" products through infomercials and operates in the United Kingdom, Ireland and DACH countries. The company operates a television channel and website in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and exclusively online in DACH regions. The company is currently a subsidiary of the ISL Group, who purchased them in 2008.



1st ID (199?-200?)

Visuals: On a black background, there is the company's logo fold into the middle of the screen. The logo consists of large yellow bold text reading BEST DIRECT in gold with the words on top of each other, and a red tickbox next to "BEST".

Variant: In the United Kingdom, white text appears below after the logo finishes animating, reading "This is/was a paid presentation for (item name) from Best Direct" or "This is/was a paid presentation for (item name) brought to you by Best Direct".

Technique: Simple animation.

Audio: None.

Audio Variants

  • In the UK, a voiceover may be heard reading the text below the logo.
  • On German infomercials, the voiceover is "Die folgende werbesendung präsentiert ihnen Best Direct." ("The following commercial is presented to you with Best Direct.")

Availability: Appears at the beginning and end of infomercials presented by the company. They were normally shown as filler on networks such as Sky Sports (United Kingdom) or Super RTL (DACH regions) during downtime.

  • By the time the next logo was introduced, this was still used on a GymForm product on the UK channel until at least 2007.

2nd ID (200?-201?)

Visuals: On a black background, the Best Direct logo appears onto the screen through a shining shadow-like effect, while a red laser creates the red tickbox.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Same as the previous logo.

Availability: Once again, appears on Infomercials presented by the company, and also appeared on the respective network in the United Kingdom as well. Examples include the Wizzit, BareMinerals, Sonic Blade, Steam-O-Power, Instant Duster Pro, Ecogenie Ball, among others.

Visuals: Just the standard Best Direct print logo on a white background.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Appears at the beginning of infomercials on the company's YouTube channel.
