Background
Belga Films is a Belgian film distribution company, founded in 1937 by Elyse Tobback. It distributes most of the catalogues of Lionsgate and EuropaCorp, as well as other movies, in Belgium and Luxembourg. They also have a video distribution branch, Belga Home Video. The company was purchased in 2010 by AFAS Belgium.
Logo (2010-)
Visuals: On a space background is an outline of a moon, with an old video camera standing on its top. A man comes near to the camera and starts it. Then lights and colored swirls come out and pan to space where they create a filmcell disc with the words "SINCE 1937" on its' bottom, and the words "BELGA FILMS" floating, with a stripe separating "BELGA" and "FILMS". On the filmcell disc, a silhouette of a man raises his arm and points towards the right of the screen, causing the sky behind the logo to brighten up. A shooting star can also be seen behind the logo.
Variants:
- A shortened version exists, starting from the filmcell already formed.
- On The Transporter Refueled and Benelux prints of Lionsgate movies, the moon is much more visible, the filmcell doesn't have the words "SINCE 1937", the sky does not brighten up behind the logo and there is no shooting star.
Technique: A combination of live-action and CGI.
Audio: A fantasy tune, which it become majestic when the colored swirls came out, and ends with a calm, three-note piano tune, with a cinema projector sound playing under it.
Availability: Seen on theatrical releases by the company, such as The Transporter Refueled.
