Background

Andy Best Productions (also known as Andy Best Electronics) is a Nigerian film company run by film producer Andy Best Nnadi.

1st Logo (1999)

Visuals: On a black background, the text "ANDY BEST" stretches in within a rectangular mask. Then, "ELECTRONICS LTD." flies in through a curved path underneath.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: None.

Availability: It was seen on the company's earliest films such as Narrow Escape.

2nd Logo (2002-2014)

Visuals: The logo starts with a timelapse footage of moving clouds with superimposed lighting strikes. Then, the screen cuts to a rocky terrain containing a shot of a campfire as the camera pans across the ground. Text in teal reading "The name you trust." then fly across in a wavy direction, passing the camera as it zooms through the landscape. The rocky terrain then fades into a sunset with the same text as before flying from right to left. Afterwards, the background fades to skies, with a hand dropping a yellow egg into the rocky ground. Once making contact with one of the stones, the egg bursts with "ANDY BEST" popping out of it and zooming into the camera. It then cuts to the same sunset background as earlier with "ANDY BEST" zooming out, "ELECTRONICS" rising up, and "The name you trust." flying behind aforementioned yellow texts and making its way underneath "ELECTRONICS".

Variants:

  • A widescreen variant exists.
  • Sometimes, the sequence with the timelapse clouds is cut.
  • A shortened variant exists, beginning at the part where we pan through the mountain terrain
  • On Hummer Extra Otondo, the logo plays in warp speed.
  • On Oga Landlord, the logo starts on a black screen while the beeping sounds and thunder is heard.
  • On Mpama the Caretaker, the logo fades into "&" on a black background. Following this is the Respect God Films logo.
  • On Turn Me to Mumu, the logo fades to black early.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The logo starts with synthesized beeps before we hear a soft-sounding track with a woman repeating "This is my destiny" for most of the song. A male voice would shout "This is my destiny!" randomly throughout the song. While this plays, a thunderstorm sound effect plays while "The name you trust" flies above the campfire. Later, an explosion sound (which sounds like it was ripped from another movie) is heard while the egg breaks into pieces.

Audio Variants:

  • Sometimes, the music may play over additional credits on a black background.
  • On Hummer Extra Otondo, whooshes are added. When the logo appears, the opening of the movie plays.
  • On Mpama the Caretaker, the music plays over the Respect God Films logo.

Availability: Seen on many movies they have produced within this period such as Oga Landlord, Turn Me to Mumu, Fateful Love, and Mpama the Caretaker. One of the last films to use this logo was Hummer Queen 3.

3rd Logo (April 12, 2014-)

Visuals: The egg explosion bit from the previous logo plays before choppily crossfading to a teal table cloth being pulled upward on a black background. It reveals "ANDY BEST PRODUCTIONS" inside two brackets rotated at a 90 degree angle. The table cloth is seen flying around the logo before leaving the screen by soaring to the top.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the shortened variant from the previous logo plays until the egg explosion sequence.
    • On White Poison 2, the sequence suddenly cuts to this logo after the egg explodes.
  • On Journey of a Bachelor, the egg excerpt from before is extended to where it is seen falling.
  • On Beautiful Angel, the egg explosion was removed and replaced with the warning screen crossfading into the logo.
  • On a 2010s release of Narrow Escape, the logo is shaking.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: First, the explosion sound from the previous logo is heard alongside a different excerpt of the same song throughout the logo. The man's second delivery of the "This is my destiny!" line is intact but with a bang inserted after his line. Before this, a short section of a maraca soundtrack is heard.

Audio Variants:

  • On I Kill My Daughter...Okoli, it is silent.
  • On Ikuku, a soft and upbeat electronic soundtrack plays.
  • On Beautiful Angel, the last few seconds of the warning screen music briefly plays over the logo before going to the latter's soundtrack. The bang after "This is my destiny!" was removed and the music soundtrack is extended before crossfading to the opening scene.

Availability: It made its debut on Ikuku and was later seen on every film they have produced since such as Golden Fish. The extended variant can be seen on The Woman I Love, My Love My Mother's Wish, White Poison 2, and Olaedo Ngozi Ezeonu.
