New AVID Slogan

Let's continue the modernization of AVID.

If I am correct, we have been using the "THE MOTION GRAPHICS MUSEUM" slogan since around 2015. We've had it since CLG and I think it's time to refresh it up. Charlie Fiddlesticks (talk) 02:24, 18 September 2023 (UTC)

NOTE: Any request slogans can go in the discord server or a separate RFC shall this pass. For now, this is for a support or opposal of a slogan rebrand.

Support

  1. Support There is a reason for this, I didn't even know that the slogan we used was that, but the problem is that it absolutely doesn't look like a slogan at all, it looks more like a "subtitle" than a slogan. I would really prefer a new slogan than one that, once again, I didn't know was a slogan. And also how Wiki rebranded a year ago, so it's better to have the new slogan, the old one can be used as a second slogan or use it in the wiki menu. Thoughts? Oppose

  1. Oppose Already decent motto. Maybe a change from Motion Graphics to Audiovisual Identity? Not sure, but a complete rework is OUT. (What you gonna do when clip-ons come for you!?) 17:04, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
  2. Oppose The only reason why you proposed this is because "for modernization's sake", so I don't really see why we need a new one. Camenati (talk) 02:30, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
  3. Oppose It's a good slogan. AlmightyKingPrawn (talk) 14:41, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
  4. Oppose The current slogan already explains our purpose well. I see no use for another slogan. Compooper (talk) 14:47, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
  5. Oppose Another day, another RfC that proposes change for the sake of change. Per others, our "Motion Graphics Museum" slogan is fine as it is. · Talk · Edits 02:22, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
  6. Oppose Let me give ya somethin' that's not encouraging: the current slogan is pretty much irreplaceable, and I'm out. --AUnnamedDragon 7:04 PM, September 19, 2023 (CET)

Comments

I guess I shall retract this, huh? Charlie Fiddlesticks (talk) 02:25, 19 September 2023 (UTC)

  1.  Comment: Also, the tagline came from the old Film & Television Logo Museum site. The earliest use of it as a tagline I could find was "The Film, Television and Video Logo Museum" in 2015, then it became "The Motion Graphics Museum" by 2016. · Talk · Edits 02:31, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
