AVID:Requests for Comment/MergeSection and SplitSection templates + rewrite Split template
Discussions of splitting and merging specific sections will receive more attention from editors in the same respect as the Merge template. What I am also thinking about these templates is that they have a reasoning parameter like the Delete template (for instance, "It is suggested (Section X) be merged with/split from (Section Y). The given reason is: (insert reason)").
Another proposal I have is to rewrite the Split template as it is dated with its mention of "holdover from our old site". That feels like it is only referring to the "Various Logos" pages (e.g. Various Television Vanity Cards). I suggest rewriting it so that the message of the template is more concise and relevant to the point of discussion ("It has been suggested that this page be split from (X)"). Perhaps it can be an Mbox as well like the Merge template since an Under Construction image doesn't define splitting pages. Camenati (talk) 18:25, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
