Image licence bot

Should we make a bot to add licences to existing images that were uploaded before licences were introduced? (Talk to Me!) 11:52, 6 April 2023 (UTC)

  1. Oppose per EMG. A bot can't look at an image and go something like "hey, this is a TV logo!" Adding licenses is a human task. Dominicmgm (talk) 14:09, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
  2. Oppose per both. Sounds like a great idea in concept, but the main questions are: How will this be actually implemented, and how will it know if the capture is from a film, television show, and possibly fake? (Discussion area ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) 14:21, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
  3. Oppose. Sounds good on paper but how is a bot going to spot these and sort the tag. Maybe a bot that can categorize the unlicensed captures for us to mark. (Talk!) 14:26, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
That sounds like a better idea! I might get this RfC closed and start a new one with your idea! (Talk to Me!) 16:34, 11 April 2023 (UTC)

Comment: I'm pretty sure a bot wouldn’t be capable of this, as to a bot, the images would just be images. It wouldn’t know which license to put on an image, as it wouldn’t be able to tell what kind of logo it is. (Lets chat!) 12:55, 6 April 2023 (UTC)

The idea itself is awesome, and it would work on paper, but I don't think it would work in practice. (Lets chat!) 12:56, 6 April 2023 (UTC)
This is it in a nutshell. You can't bot out the human element required for this process. --Raidarr (talk) 09:48, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
